Time Difference Ethiopia is 3 hours ahead of GMT and does not observe Daylight-Saving.
The
UK is in the Western European Time Zone which is the same as Greenwich
Mean Time - GMT. During the summer, the UK observes Daylight-Saving
and the time advances by 1 hour - GMT +1. In the winter, the time
reverts to GMT. Photography Holidays - Ethiopia Our
photography holidays in Ethiopia offer an opportunity to photograph
landscapes, architecture, wildlife and lots more. Some of the
accommodation we stay in does not have electricity, so digital
photographers need to be aware of this and plan to bring additional
batteries/cards. We are careful and responsible with 'people'
photography -and will provide guidelines that we ask you to respect.
Responsible Photography do not encourage the photography of children. We
always try to make sure that people we photograph, especially
from the communities we stay in, receive copies of photographs taken by
Responsible Photography Holiday Clients. This is organised by Gail,
Asrat, Mark - and our guides, drivers and Village Elders.
Ethiopian Wolf Interested
in finding our more about the endemic Ethiopian wolf? The Ethiopian
Wolf Conservation Project has lots of information on their website.
Roads Be
prepared for all sorts of different roads and tracks in Ethiopia. The
Chinese are busy building new highways across the Country, some
stretches are completed and others are underway - so there are times
when you'll be stuck in roadworks or traffic jams! Other roads are
steep, twisty and bumpy, some are narrow tracks and some are completely
'off piste' - so lots of fun! We have good vehicles and exellent drivers
,who are a dab hand at changing punctures (and we know from first hand
experience!!).
Accommodation The
accommodation we use varies enormously, and often depends on the
location. As far as possible we stay in locally or privately owned
accommodation. Choice of hotels is based on lots of different factors
which include location, history, architecture, staff and overall
experience. We camp, stay in with community run accommodation and in
small lodges and guesthouses. As much as possible, we want Ethiopians to
benefit directly from Responsible Photography Holidays. Some of the
places we go to don't have accommodation - so we are self sufficient and
camp - with everyone lending a hand! Each holiday includes different
styles of accommodation depending on the places visited, so check the
accommodation specificed if you prefer not to camp (but you'll be
missing a brilliant experience!).©Gail Ward
