Fairtrade Shopping

  • promote the purchase of local produce, locally made goods and traditional crafts
One of our founding principles is to 'promote the purchase of local produce, locally made goods and traditional crafts'

Did you know that there are lots of Fairtrade and Eco Friendly products on sale in the UK - which can be purchased from specialist sole-traders, your local shop or even mainstream supermarkets. So when you go shopping, please look for the Fairtrade or Traidcraft logo which indicates that the local producers should receive a fair market payment for their goods and their work.

Fairtrade Fortnight 2012 was 27th February - 11th March.

This year everyone is being asked  to 'Take A Step for Fair Trade' - Gail from Responsible Photography suggests swopping your coffee, or tea, for a FairTrade Ethiopian or Rwandan one. Ethiopians and Rwandese livelihoods depend on being paid a fair price for their labours and that is what 'TAKE A STEP FOR FAIRTRADE IN 2012' is all about.

2010 'What's Your Swap' was a huge success - the swapometer is FULL! Click to find out just how successful the 'big swap' was - and how it is continuing around the UK.
