Morocco Photography Holiday - Photo Trail
| ![]() |
| Photography opportunities abound on this Responsible Photography Holiday in Morocco, which Gail has now run for 10 years. Journey across high mountain passes, along beautiful valleys and traverse deep gorges. Explore cool palmeries and encounter the mystery of the kasbah. There's something magical about the sand dunes, especially in the early evening light
and a visit to a bustling town on market day is fascinating. Your
challenge will be to capture it all on camera! Local colour, changing
light, beautiful landscapes, lots of different viewpoints and subjects
- this holiday is planned with time to enjoy the places we visit and a
wide scope of photography. We start and finish with a brief interlude in Marrakech, where there is time to discover colourful old palaces and quiet corners. ![]() We
stay in small guest houses, auberges and old kasbahs. Early starts and a
couple of long days travelling are necessary but the reward is lots to
see and think about. Photographically you'll be able to experiment
with composition and perspective in some of Gail's favourite places and
she will be on hand for individual help, suggestions, tuition and guidance.
Over informal suppers you can enjoy talking about your photography with
fellow travellers who share the same interest or just relax after a busy day. Digital photographers
can back up, re-charge and review their work regularly throughout the
holiday. Meeting local people gives an insight into their way of life,
culture and traditions. We
request participants to be respective and sensitive towards the people
we meet, and to follow cultural guidelines and protocol, especially when photographing people. ItineraryWhilst we meet up in Marrakech, most of our time is spent exploring the south of Morocco, with just a brief interlude in Marrakech. We journey across the Atlas Mountains, trail in and out of beautiful valleys and challenging landscapes, eventually reaching the sand dunes at the beginning of the Sahara. This desert region is fascinating and offers lots of photographic challenges! Take a dromaderie into the dunes for the sunset, get up very very early for -hopefully - the sunrise, visit a bustling local market and gain an understanding into the traditional ways of life in this southern region of Morocco.
