Photography Holidays - the info

A successful Responsible Photography Holiday is about experiencing and respecting the places  we visit and having fun with your camera. Travel with a companion,  travel solo or travel as a private group. Max out your holiday time with the chance to  experience fascinating places, encounter colourful local life and enjoy your photography. We  maintain our founding principles of contributing to community livelihoods, encouraging positive interaction with the people we meet and respecting the environment. We are very privileged to visit some of the places we go to and it is important that the trust placed in us is not compromised. Sometimes it is not appropriate to take photographs, particularly of women and children, so please respect any request to 'hold back' with the camera - enjoy the experience and cherish the memory instead.

Perhaps you are a less experienced photographer  who wants to gain confidence and learn more or do you just want to  indulge your passion for photography?  Whichever holiday you choose, there will be help, guidance and support together with ideas and tips depending on what your individual interests or requirements are.  Rather than offer specific workshops we are  offering holidays to different places so  that you can learn more about photography and have fun with your camera whichever holiday you choose.
  • Themed Photography
Consider using a photography holiday to produce a personal narrative or photography book.  An initial discussion will help determine what you would like to concentrate on. Perhaps it will be pattern and texture, or colour and abstract, a travel documentary or a combination of words and pictures or maybe you'll join one of our Nature and Wildlife Photo Holidays.   Review and discussion sessions will ensure you edit ideas and stay on track with your project.    Everyone  will be encouraged to participate in open discussion to share their photographic knowledge, thoughts and experience.

  • Have fun and learn more about photography

Do you want to get to know your camera, learn a bit more about photography and have fun at the same time?   Why not join a Responsible Photography Holiday and gain that extra confidence so that you can really enjoy your  photography.  We have fun on our beginners holidays in Morocco which include structured workshops to help you with your photography.

  • the basics of photography and your camera
  • lighting, composition, positioning
  • how to process and prepare your photographs
  • different ways to present your photographs
  • take the next step - alternative viewpoints and angles
  • introduction to copyright
  • taking photographs for a personal project or photography book

During all our holidays there will be 'discussion' sessions, evening reviews, suggested techniques to practice and individual support.  The  number of photography holiday participants won't be exceeded unless you would like a holiday or workshop for your own private group.

  • Volunteer photography
Would you like to share your interest in photography and creative skills by assisting with the Mountain Village Photo Project or the planned photo project in Rwanda?  Are you practical, patient and confident enough to help children, and adults, who are eager to learn about cameras and taking pictures?  You don't need to be a highly skilled photographer, your personal skills and genuine interest in helping are much more important. References/CRB check required.
