Photo Holiday info

Locations for Responsible Photography Holidays are in China, Ethiopia, Morocco and Rwanda You need to book your own flights, arrange good travel and camera insurance, check health and vaccination requirements, make sure your passport is up to date and organise any visas required.  Malaria tablets are required for holidays to Rwanda and Ethiopia.  Holiday prices are calculated on the basis of number of nights, shared, accommodation, meals and activities as detailed in each individual holiday itinerary.  Availability of solo accommodation varies from holiday to holiday; please request as early as possible. There will be usually be an additional cost because . unless otherwise stated, our holidays are costed on twin or double accommodation.  Please note that solo accommodation may not always be available, but we do make sure you share with someone of the same gender! PLEASE NOTE
  • If you would like to see the Gorillas during your Rwanda photo holiday then please book as early as possible to ensure that you are not disappointed as only a restricted number of people are allowed to trek to see the gorillas each day.  For June holidays bookings and payment should really be made by end January /early February at the latest, although we will request for bookings after these dates. 
  • 2010  Reservations are already being taken for 2010 holidays to the Mountain Village in Morocco and to see the Gorillas in Rwanda.  ADDITIONAL DATES AVAILABLE ON REQUEST.

CHINA                                                                                                                                                                All our China Photography Holidays start and finish at Beijing International Airport. Please remember to budget for International flights and the cost of visas, vaccinations and malaria tablets. Air China fly direct to Beijing International. Holidays are based on the Air China flight schedules but there are a number of other airlines that fly directly to Beijing International. We travel by private van and coach, bicycle and on foot.

  • Rural Highlights Photography Holiday - Full Board days 2-10. Breakfast only days 11 and 12. 

ETHIOPIA
All our Ethiopia photography holidays start and finish in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  Please remember to budget for flights and the cost of visas, vaccinations/malaria tablets.  Ethiopian Airlines fly direct to Addis Ababa. As a guide, holidays are based on the Ethiopian Airlines flight schedules, which operate from London Heathrow. Day 1 is counted as a 'flight day' arriving in Addis Ababa the early hours of Day 2.  The last day is a full days itinerary with transfers to the airport in the evening, for a flight just after midnight.  There are a number of other airlines that fly direct to Addis Ababa including KLM and Emirates. Additional nights accommodation can be arranged on request.   We travel by mini bus, 4x4 and trek.
MOROCCO

All our Morocco photography holiday arrangements start and finish in Marrakech.  As a guide, holidays are organised around the Royal Air Maroc flight schedule from Gatwick in the UK.  Flights depart from Gatwick at  lunchtime and  from Marrakech at 07.30hrs in the morning. Easyjet and Ryanair fly from lots of different UK Airports - please try not to get a flight that arrives too late on the arrival date of your holiday - just in case there are delays as this could impact on the programme.  Group sizes are minimum 3/4 and maximum 6-8 unless indicated otherwise. Meal arrangements  do not include Lunches or dinner in Marrakech.  We stay in small places and our holidays are costed on twin rooms.  If you  prefer a room of your own for the holiday, please tell us and we will try to arrange this. Any additional cost will be advised.

Ramadan in 2010 is from August 11th - September 9th. Please remember to budget for your flight.  Do consider the fact there is no electricity  to recharge batteries whilst staying in the villages on the Mountain Village Experience (but you will recharge your own batteries - great place to relax!)  We travel by 4x4, minibus and local taxi whilst in Morocco; minibus or 4x4 and local taxi in Rwanda.

RWANDA
All our Rwanda photography holidays start and finish in Kigali, Rwanda. Please remember to budget for flights and the cost of the vaccinations/malaria tablets. Brussels Airlines and Kenya Airways are two airlines that fly to Kigali.  Holidays are based on Brussels Airlines schedules, which operate from Manchester, London Gatwick and London Heathrow.  We travel by minibus, 4x4, local taxi and walk/trek.

Please remember to budget for flights and the cost of the vaccinations/malaria tablets. Minimum age for Gorilla Trekking is 15 years old.  We travel by minibus, 4x4, local taxi - and walk.

Flights from New Zealand and Australia

We've had feedback that the Flight Centre is really helpful for booking  flights to coincide with our photo holidays.
Also worth checking out Emirates for Ethiopia, and Southern China Airways for Beijing. Marrakech via Paris is worth looking at. It might be worth booking an additional nights accommodation before the start of your  holiday to allow for any jetlag!

Footnote

We try to ensure that all our programmes run as described. Very occasionally changes have to be made as a result of circumstances beyond our control, force majeur, weather or conflicting schedules or because we do not have the minimum number of people booked to run the holiday. We make every effort to ensure that any changes are comparable to the holiday originally offered  and will talk to you about any changes that do have to be made.   Just a further reminder that Gorilla Trekking has to be booked, confirmed and paid for at least 20 weeks in advance and the mininum age is 15 years old.
