Who we support
Responsible Photography Holidays runs photo projects and raises awareness for SOS Children's Villages.
Morocco - Mountain Village Community and Mountain Village Photo Project
By traveling on a Responsible Photography Holidays 'Mountain Village Experience' you will be directly contributing to the village community who gain much needed income. We also let you know about anything the community specifically needs prior to your holiday. For example, sometimes the school needs paper or craft equipment, clothes (especially winter clothes) are always very welcome, and often the health clinic needs basic first aid supplies. These are items that you can easily bring from the UK and is an additional (optional) way of helping this community. The Mountain Village Photo Project is a photo project set up to involve school children, and their families, in the mountain village. The idea is that the children will have fun with photography, whilst also developing a variety of different skills. If you have unused or unwanted cameras, perhaps you would like to donate them to the project. For lots more info about the project, and to find out how you can help, have a look at the Mountain Village Photo Project website.

Responsible Photography are setting up a photo project in Ethiopia during 2011 - we are collecting DIGITAL compact cameras, together with any unwanted digital SLRS. Cameras suitable for people with visual impairments are especially welcome. We are also collecting arts and craft materials, and LAPTOPS - please get in touch if you can help, or would like to sponsor this project.
RWANDA
Our plans for the photo project in Rwanda are on hold for the time being. It is hoped that the project will go ahead in the future.

(Mission statement for SOS Children's Villages)
Gail first became aware of SOS Children's Villages whilst working in Thailand (a long long time ago!). SOS Children's Villages is an international non-governmental social development organisation that has been active in the field of children's rights and committed to children's needs and concerns since 1949. Over 60,000 orphaned and abandonded children live in SOS Children's Villages. Thousands more receive care through family strengthening programmes. Vulnerable families and those living in difficult conditions are also helped.
SOS Children's Villages is active in 99% of the Countries Gail has worked/been involved with during her career and are active in most Countries that you go on holiday too. Negash, our driver/guide in Ethiopia has a friend who grew up with the support of SOS Children's Villages in Ethiopia. So if you would like to make a difference, and help someone in your holiday destination, why not consider helping an SOS Children's Village. Find out more at SOS Children's Villages.
If you would like to contribute to SOS Children's Villages please consider doing so through making a donation or sponsoring a child. Your money will go directly to helping children or funding projects requiring emergency help (the administration is run through using tax reclaimed through gift aid).
